This debate is all very hypothetical but in reality we don't even catch the b....dy fish anyway! |

Agree 100% no one wants to foul hook a fish but thats the chance we take all the time as anglers look at zig rigs so many fish get foul hooked using them but we continue to use them. We all aim and spend hours trying to hook fish in the bottom lip do we beleive that this causes less stress than hooking them in the fin or tail? Who knows. |

Fair point about winter fishing, but there is very little chance of foul hooking your quary. while spawning the fish go crazy it is more likley for this to happen. In winter less fish get caught only the ones that are feeding. |

I take a slightly different view on this one, my experience when carp are spawning is that they are full of energy and will need to eat to replace the energy they are spending during this time, flip the question over is it fair to fish for them during the winter when they are laying up trying to conserve energy is it fair to drag them out the lake then? |

should we fish when the fish are spawning? is it safe to try and catch fish when there mind is on other things. I beleive all lakes should be left alone |
